Discover Your Ideal in 5 Steps
As I write this, an atmospheric river moves across California and the sound of rain fills the room. It feels like the right backdrop for a conversation about something quiet and powerful inside you, something I call your ideal.
I came across a line recently:
“Your destiny depends upon what you do in relation to your ideal.”

In plain language, that means: your future takes shape according to how closely your actions match the person you want to become.
For me, this links directly to identity work, both personal and brand related. Your ideal rises from your inner conscience. It reveals what you truly value, and those values crystallize into character through repeated choices. When you live close to your ideal, you feel a sense of inner alignment. When you drift away from it, life slowly starts to feel hollow, even if everything looks successful from the outside.
Right now, a huge tide of homogenized thinking sweeps across culture. Algorithms, institutions, and social incentives reward people who blend into certain belief systems and expression styles. Many people trade away pieces of their inner truth for acceptance or safety. The result often feels like a quiet grief, a vague sense that something essential keeps slipping away.
I want this newsletter to stand as an alternative voice. A reminder that you carry an inner compass, that you still have the ability to choose a path that feels true, even inside this environment.
So, what is your ideal?
I see your ideal as the core of you that remains when every outer role falls away. Imagine three winters in a snow-covered cabin with no contact, no social feeds, no audience. Eventually the noise in your head settles, and what still matters after that is a clue to your ideal. From that core, your values emerge. From your values, your character grows. From your character, a real sense of identity takes form.
To make this very practical, here is the five-step process from the video, adapted for you to work through this week.

1. Notice what feels right
Move through your day with a little extra attention on your inner response.
Some situations create a sense of openness and honesty inside you. Others create tightness or a quiet urge to pull away.
These reveal where your ideal feels honored and where it feels betrayed.
2. Name the qualities you admire
Take a page in your journal and list qualities you respect in yourself and in others.
Circle three to five that feel essential, the ones you want at the center of your life, even when that choice becomes inconvenient.
These qualities point directly at your values.
3. Describe your ideal self
Write a brief description of the person who lives those values every day.
How do you carry yourself, what do you look like?, speak to others, handle conflict, treat your body, approach your work?
Allow feeling to arise as you picture this person. That feeling carries the “tone” of your ideal and helps you anchor it into reality.

4. Choose one action for today
From your list of values, select one and give it a simple expression today.
Maybe integrity means an honest conversation, or courage means one clear boundary, or compassion means patient listening.
Keep the action small so follow-through feels natural. The point is repetition, not intensity.
5. Review your day with your ideal in mind
Before sleep, put your phone away for a moment.
Ask yourself: “Where did I live close to my ideal today, and where did I drift away?”
Celebrate any moment that felt aligned, and choose one micro-adjustment for tomorrow. The review turns self-awareness into an actual path instead of a vague idea.

Your ideal gives direction to your life. It rises from your inner conscience, reveals your real values, and those values shape your character through your choices. As you understand your ideal more clearly, you gain a steady inner compass for growth, decision making, and integrity. Self-awareness then becomes a practical plan you follow each day, rather than a concept that stays in your head.
I care about this because I see many people who feel weary, successful on paper yet estranged from themselves. Identity work, in both life and business, can restore a sense of vigor. When you align with your ideal and express it through your presence, your work, your relationships, something inside you remembers why you came here.
If you feel called to go deeper with this, I offer one-on-one clarity calls where we explore your identity, your values, and how they want to move through your life and your work. You can book an hour with me and we will sit with the real questions together.
See you next Monday,
Dustin

Authentic Alchemy Philosophy
A Framework for Becoming
Authentic Alchemy is a structured process for uncovering and expressing the core identity of any entity, whether a brand, business, leader, or individual. It emerged from the realization that the principles of brand science offer powerful tools for guiding any entity toward its highest expression.
Every entity holds innate value, though it’s often hidden by emotional patterning, inherited beliefs, and social pressures. These internal blocks can stifle genuine expression across personal, relational, and business contexts, masking the true value of your unique offering to the world. For those ready to explore meaningful self-discovery, Authentic Alchemy provides the clarity, structure, and tools necessary to uncover and clearly articulate this genuine identity.
Our core principle, Truth, realigns an entity into a state of homeostasis where it can begin to function with ease, embodying its vital character, unique perspectives, and genuine ways of being. Empathy deepens this connection by recognizing that expression is inherently relational. It attunes entities to how others experience their offer, ensuring the message is received clearly and resonates meaningfully. Together, truth and empathy create resonance, an undeniable frequency that naturally attracts alignment and connection. This resonance creates coherence, a natural alignment between identity and expression that fosters genuine magnetism.
Drawing from diverse frameworks, Authentic Alchemy also integrates tools and insights from ancient and esoteric traditions alongside proven brand science, broadening its impact into a holistic dimension. This approach marks a clear break from conventional methods that rely on superficial appeal or manipulation. When your innate value is aligned with truth and resonance, success becomes intrinsic and inevitable. Any distortion or inauthenticity disrupts this natural resonance, which is why the process must begin and remain rooted in truth.
The result? You become more than visible. You become inevitable. When you achieve this level of coherence, you naturally attract the right people, opportunities, and outcomes because you're operating from a place of effortless authority.
Authentic Alchemy connects core identity to how it is experienced in the world. It moves from self-discovery to full expression, translating essence into clear language, visuals, and presence. This is identity as signal, turning purpose into impact.
